This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Ontario Science Centre, an iconic institution for thought-provoking experiences in science and technology that’s welcomed more than 52 million visitors through its doors since 1969.
To celebrate the milestone, the Ontario Science Centre will be hosting a series of special events, installations, films and guest speakers throughout the year. Starting with Inventorium 2.0 in January, a collaborative art-science-maker space featuring hands-on activities designed to spark questions and test creativity. It will truly be the “Summer of Space” at the Centre with two new exhibitions with Astronaut and Women in Space that coincide with the 50th anniversary of the moon landing in July. An exhibition about The Mind which opens during the Centre’s birthday weekend celebration in September will feature a journey of self-discovery about the mind.
The Science Centre will also share the stories of Canadians who have benefited from its experiences over the last five decades. From established community leaders to aspiring young scientists, presenters will reveal the lessons they have learned and the steps they are taking to transform the world around them.
